Demand for Project Management Practitioners has long exceeded the availability of talent with relevant project skills. 120VC interviews approximately 200 people each year to hire 20 when we have openings for 60. Our clients interview an average of 1000 people to hire 200 with openings for 300. The PMI forecasts the creation of an additional 15.7 Million Project Management Jobs by the year 2020.

This Program is meant to bridge the gap between demand and relevant skills by providing the training needed to be competitive in the Project Portfolio Management field today at no cost to eligible program participants.

People eligible to participate in our training program at no cost fit the following criteria:

  • Transitioning Military, Veterans and their families,
  • Underemployed Project Portfolio Management Practitioners
  • College Students
  • 120VC Foundation Volunteers

What Participants Receive

In addition to the education, the most valuable part of this program is the access to a network of professional Project, Program and Portfolio Management professionals. The training is provided by people that actually hire Project Managers and provide professional consulting services to 120VC’s Fortune 500 client base. In addition, you join an ever growing group of alumni. Not only will you have the opportunity to network with current program participants, but when you complete the training you are eligible to join 120VC’s Training Alumni Group on LinkedIn. This group consists of current and past 120VC Team Members and past program participants.

When you complete the program, you don’t just graduate with a solid understanding of the cutting edge practices of Project Management today, but with a network of champions willing to help progress your career in Project Management.

The education you receive will consist of:

  1. A complimentary copy of the Irreverent Guide to Project Management
  2. Complimentary attendance to all 9 of the 120VC Online Instructor Led Project Management Training classes
    • 32 Hours of How-To Project Management Training
    • Taught by 120VC Certified Program Managers / Project Managers
    • Training qualifies for PMI PDU’s (or Contact Hours)
    • Completion of the training qualifies for membership in the 120VC Training Alumni Group on LinkedIn
  3. Attendance to a weekly 1 hour conference call w/ 120VC Senior Leadership to answer questions about:
    • The field of Project Management
    • Resumes / job search / LinkedIn tips
    • The training, and…
    • Review exams for those that did not receive a passing score
  4. Complimentary access to sit for the 120VC Project Management Foundational Certificate exam (120PFC).
    • The exact same exam used to certify 120VC Team Members
    • Each participant will be provided 3 opportunities to take and pass each of the 9 exam segments.
    • Each exam segment has approximately 200 questions, ties back to the Chapters in the Irreverent Guide to Project Management and is allotted 3 hours to complete.
    • Completion of the entire 120VC Instructor led Project Management Training Course is a prerequisite to taking the exam.

Program Information:

  • Any participant that completes the entire 120VC Instructor Led Project Management Training Course and passes each exam segment with a 90% or better will receive their 120VC Project Management Foundational Certificate (120PFC). This certificate indicates you have comprehensive knowledge of the 120VC Project Management Standard which is highly sought by the fortune 500.
  • Participants that obtain their 120PFC will be eligible to apply for open positions at 120VC and introduction to 120VC Clients for Project Coordinator & Project Management Positions (depending on experience).
  • Participants will need to make themselves available each Wednesday between the hours of 11am – 3pm or 7pm – 11pm (depending on whether you sign up for day or evening classes) during the 9 weeks allotted to complete the Instructor Led Training.
  • Once all 9 of the Instructor Led Training classes have been completed participants will be eligible to begin taking the exams. The exams are self-paced and taken online. Once an exam is passed with a 90% or better an invitation for the following exam will be sent out.
  • The weekly conference call w/ 120VC Senior Leadership will be held at 9am each Friday morning.
